Der Smile Chor is made up of singers from all around the world, united by the conviction that music can bring joy and healing.
All choir members volunteer their time and talents out of personal motivation. Our performances are free of charge for the host facilities, and we cover all expenses ourselves through private contributions from our members.
We are not a formal association, but rather a community of people dedicating their time, voices, and skills to bringing joy to others. Our concerts are often accompanied by small gifts, such as balloons or toys for children.
We have performed at numerous locations around the Munich area, including community centres, care homes, shelters, and hospitals.
A distinctive feature of “Smile” is our international community. Many of our members come from outside Germany and have found a common language through music.
We sing primarily well-known songs in English. This allows people who do not yet speak German to get involved, become part of the local community, and actively give something back.
No prior musical experience is required—just openness and a love for participating together. “Smile” naturally combines music, integration, and human connection.
We bring people together, transcend boundaries, and create moving encounters—voice by voice, heart by heart.
